The pair were charged with keeping Sileby in the Premier Division after gaining an unexpected promotion the season before. With the initial intention of only being here for one season, he stayed for the next nine, albeit with a break in the middle when he headed back to Australia before having a change of heart and headed back 'home' to Sileby. Was generally not at his best in the Premier Division but generally filled his boots in Division One, topping 1,000 runs in 2002 and 2006 and also came close in 2004. His elevation to Club Captain, for the beginning of the 2006 season, brought the most successful season in the history of the club as he lead them to the Division One Championship, after being bottom at the halfway stage and a Grace Road appearence in their first ever showing in the County Cup final, where they ultimately lost to Leicester Banks. After nine years, Ben hung up his gloves, we hope temporarily, at the end of the 2007 season to concentrate on his work commitments. However, he remains a great friend and servant of the club who we hope to see back in Sileby colours soon. Sileby Playing Record
