Nationality: Australia Senior Sileby Town Debut: v Dunton Bassett First XI in 1994 Nicknames: Big Adey Batting Style: Right Handed Bowling Style: Right Arm Medium Senior PB With The Bat: 107 not out v Broomleys First XI for the First XI in 1994 Senior PB With The Ball: 6-74 v Loughborough Carillon Old Boys First XI for the First XI in 1994 Summary: Adey was a larger than life character who arrived in the country with compatriot Tony Balcombe. Tony plied his trade with neighbours Barrow Town and Adey was pointed in Sileby's direction, although he continued to live in Barrow's pavilion. Adey was notoriously inconsistent and made batting look as easy as pie one week and like he'd never picked up a bat in his life the next. That said, his first season brought him his highest score for Sileby, of 107 not out in his seventh knock for the club, away at Broomleys, while he also recorded his best figures for the club of 6-74 in the same season, at home against Loughborough Carillon Old Boys. He returned for a second season, in the clubs centenary year of 1995 and showed more consistency with the bat and in doing so hit 17 maximums. Adey returned to Australia at the end of 1995 season and as far as we know, hasn't returned to England since. Sileby Playing Record
