Welcome Back!! What a last few days!!! The 1st XI won against Sileby Town and are now champions for the 2008 season. Well done to Gareth and the lads on what has been a really outstanding season. The 2nd XI unfortunately lost to the same opponents and look as though they will be playing Div 5 cricket next season. Whilst this is disappointing it will not be long before we start moving back up the leagues as our promising young players get older and become more experienced. The Junior Presentation night last Friday was a great success and we were really pleased to have the England Head Coach Peter Moores present the awards to the youngsters. We would like to thank Peter for helping us with this it is really appreciated. I would also like to thank the dynamic duo of Tracy Nightingale and Andy McParland and their other halves for the tremendous effort they put in to make this event and others through the season such a success. Well done and both of you fully deserved the Clubman Of The Year award for 2008. Finally I am pleased to report that we were visited by David Bailey from the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Board last Saturday and we gained Clubmark again for another 3 years. This is an excellent achievement and reflects well on the hard work put in by all the volunteers at the club. CheersJohn Wilson

Aye Up! Well the season is all but done. You can tell this by the fact that the sun has started to shine again and the weather warm up!!! Typical! I thought I would pen a few words to say thank you to Johnny U and Colin Green for all the work they have done on the square over the season. The square will need to be put to bed at the end of the season after the last game and I am sure that they would welcome some help doing this. It usually happens the day after the last game e.g. 21st Sept this year but please get in touch with John U and check this out. With no square we have no game and we are lucky to play on such a fine surface so please do get down and lend a hand - they would be pleased to see you. Who knows we may even have a bacon roll or two!!Don't forget the senior presentation night on 20th Sept and the AGM date to be advised.See you around.Fat Fred
